Closings Styles

When choosing a closing agent, most people factor in things like cost and convenience to their physical location. What many people don’t realize is that, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, the title and escrow industry has had to evolve and offer new ways for buyers and sellers to complete their transactions. After some growing pains, the industry has settled on three widely accepted closing styles: in-person signings, mail-away signings, and remote online notaries. That said, many closing agents are not able or choose not to offer every style. Whether you are the buyer or seller, it is important to know all your options and pick a closing agent who best suits your needs. Closings have traditionally been stressful, time-consuming, and heavily structured events, often taking half a day to complete. By embracing technology and staying innovative, Lacey Lyons Rezanka is working to make closing day easy and stress-free for buyers, sellers, and Realtors; this includes offering all three closing styles.

In Person Closings
If you live in Brevard County or prefer face-to-face closings, we welcome you to schedule your in-person closing at our Melbourne Office. Once you arrive at our office, you will review your documents with a member of our team, who will also answer any questions, then sign.

Mail Away Closings
If you prefer signing paper documents but live outside of Brevard County, have mobility limitations, or prefer not to travel to our office, a mail-away closing style may be right for you. Your closing documents will be provided in PDF format roughly 3 to 4 days before closing, along with a pre-paid FedEx label. Once you review your documents with a member of our team, you take your documents for execution in the presence of the notary of your choice in your area. Upon execution, scan and email a PDF copy of your documents to our office for review, then mail the originals back using the FedEx label provided. Documents must be returned to our office by or before the scheduled closing date.

Remote Online Notaries
If you live outside of Brevard County, have mobility limitations, or prefer not to travel to our office on closing day, a remote online notary may be right for you. Using the electronic signing platform Pactima, you review and electronically sign the closing documents with a member of our team, all from the comfort of your home. A copy of the fully executed documents is automatically sent to you upon completion of the signing.

While many closing agents are not able or choose not to offer every style, it is important to remember that your closing does not have to be stressful. Whether you are the buying or selling party, it is important to know all your options and pick the one that best suits your needs. At Lacey Lyons Rezanka, we understand that working with the right closing team can transform the closing experience from a frustrating or inconvenient process into a flexible, easy and convenient process. That’s why we pride ourselves on staying innovative, offering the latest closing technology to ease the stress of your transaction. Contact our office today to find out how we can help get you or your clients into their new home without the traditional headaches of closing day!
